The regular Doggie Yappy Hour returns to Fegley’s Brew Works in Allentown, Pennsylvania. The event will be plenty of fun and support a good cause. Best of all, you don’t have to choose between having a drink and hanging out with your dog since the pups are welcome to join you.
Where and When
Doggie Yappy Hour takes place on the Biergarten Patio at the back of Fegley’s Allentown Brew Works, which is at 812 Hamilton Street. There is no cover charge, so you will only spend as much as you want. The event takes place every single Tuesday until September 26, giving you plenty of opportunities to join in. You can attend between 5:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. each evening.
How Yappy Hour Helps
Each week, the Doggie Yappy Hour has a different charity that it supports, each of which focuses on helping animals in the area. The first one of the month supports LV Pitbull Awareness Club, and September 12 supports American Bulldog Rescue. September 19 supports Powell House Inc., and September 26 supports Harnessed to Hope Northern Breed Rescue.
You are welcome to order anything you like during this time, but specific drinks support the week’s charity. The full 100 percent of profits from a select number of beverages go to the charity. These include the weekly specials of red and white sangria, Fegley’s Knuckleball, Fegley’s Amber Lager, Pawn Shop Porter, and Steelgaarden Wit.
If You Bring Your Pooch
Dogs are invited to attend Doggie Yappy Hour, but only if they are friendly both with humans and with other dogs. Bring along your general vet information and proof of your pooch’s vaccinations. To easily enter the patio without having to walk through the main building (which off limits to dogs for sanitary reasons), access it via Lumber Street.
Enjoy Fegley’s Brew Works Other Nights
Although your money won’t go toward a specific doggie-related charity any other night, any time you visit Fegley’s Brew Works, you are supporting a local brewery, which is a big bonus. Every Saturday, you can go on a tour of the Fegley’s Allentown Brew Works. The tour begins at noon in the back room brewery, and as you go through, you end up with a glass in your hand. Best of all, the brewery tour, as well as the sampling session, are completely free. Just remember to make a reservation.
Or just visit the Fegley’s Allentown Brewery any time you are in the mood for delicious food and homemade brews. It is open from Sunday to Thursday between 11 a.m. and midnight with food served until 11 p.m. and on Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. with food service ending at midnight. The menu includes things like wings, chicken tenders, Bavarian pretzels, flatbreads, soups, salad, burgers, sandwiches, mac and cheese, main entrées such as bratwurst or fish and chips, and even brunch.
The team at Scott Family of Dealerships reminds you to drink responsibly if you plan on heading to Fegley’s Allentown Brewery to support a worthy cause. Either limit your consumption before driving back to your Pennsylvania home or get a designated driver.
