Santa Will Run for Beer 5k-ish!

Santa will Run for Beer

Hosted by Run Lehigh Valley, the Santa Will Run for Beer 5k-ish is back for 2017. This is a great way to kick off the holiday season with lots of fun. This is a unique run because not only is it just a 5k-ish, as opposed to a full 5k, but everyone is dressed up.

Where and When

This 5k-ish will be on Saturday, Dec. 9. It starts at noon and goes until 3 p.m., with runners making stops along the way. Runners will start and end at the same bar within Bethlehem, which is still to be determined. You can register online for the race for $25 plus a small fee, with the price increasing the day of the race, if spots are left. $5 of each registration fee goes right to Toys for Tots, helping to bring joy to those who need it. Consider registering as early as possible since space is limited for this run due to the nature of the event.

Running Between Bars

Although the event is called a 5k-ish, don’t expect to do too much running. Instead, participants run between various participating bars. There will even be free beer available! If you bring a new toy to donate to Toys for Tots, you will get a ticket that can be redeemed for a free beer at the bar the run begins at. Additionally, the first 25 runners to visit each bar will get a free drink. If you aren’t one of the 25 first people to get there, don’t worry. There will be drink specials for all participants; don’t expect to have to pay full price for your draft beer. You can head to the bars in any order that you want, but everyone starts and ends at the same one.

Costumes Are Required

To stick with this run’s theme, costumes are required. You must dress up as either Santa Claus or Mrs. Claus to participate. They will accept the occasional reindeer or elf but strongly discourage those in plain red shirts with Santa hats. You may not be accepted to participate if you show up like this.

Be Respectful

Since Santa Will Run for Beer takes place in bars during regular business hours, the organizers want to remind participants to be respectful at all times. This even involves plenty of interaction with the community, so if you can’t handle drinking a beer at every participating bar and acting respectful, try limiting your intake. Just relax, socialize, have fun, and run around in your Santa outfit.

You clearly won’t need to use your vehicle from Scott Family of Dealerships during the Santa Will Run for Beer Event, but you will want it to get to the first Bethlehem bar from your Allentown, Pennsylvania, home.
