You don’t have to travel to New York or Paris to see art. Some of the best is located near your home at the Allentown Art Museum of the Lehigh Valley. This museum has permanent collections and temporary exhibits for you to enjoy. Stop by the next time you are in the area and immerse yourself in art.

Permanent Collections

The museum’s permanent collections are available at all times. Regardless of when you visit, you can see the European Painting and Sculpture collection, which has more than 100 European master paintings and sculptures. The American Paintings and Sculpture collection is also a popular option. If you view the collection, you will see paintings and sculptures from the mid-18th century all the way to the present day.

Collections also include textiles, decorative arts, non-western art, and works on paper. Take the time to browse through all of the permanent collections.

Rotating Exhibits

The museum keeps a steady stream of rotating exhibits. Right now, you can see Transcultural: A Mural by Rigo Peralta, Designing for the Loom: Drawings by William Geskes, and more. In the future, you can see Power and Piety: Spanish Colonial Art and other exciting exhibits. Because these exhibits rotate out frequently, there is always a reason to go to the museum.

Admission Fees

If you want to go to the museum but don’t have any extra money to spend, stop by on Thursday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. or Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. Admission is free at those times.
